Getting to know TK

If you’ve been following Candace or our company, you probably know that I am her son and I work with her. I’ve shared a little bit about myself before, but wanted to take the opportunity to share more about what’s been going on in my life.

I originally made this post “Getting To Know Tim” in February of 2017, and maybe it’s just that I’m getting older, but that seems like a lifetime ago.

So what have I been up to since then?

Well, lots.

I’m an active member of a couple of Toastmasters Clubs locally. I’m working on becoming a better presenter and public speaker. Toastmasters annually hosts the World Championship of Public Speaking, and I’ve made it part of my mission to win. So, I regularly give speeches at local Toastmasters Clubs, and work with a speech coach to refine my skills, and get better faster. Last year I made it to the Division level and got second, so my goal is to win it all in 2020. I’ll share more of my speeches and presentations here too.

I also changed the name I go by. When I was a kid I went by my middle name, Kyle. But then when I landed at UCF in college, I started going by Tim, because I didn’t feel like correcting my professors every class for 4 months. Then through my Toastmasters journey, I realized that I wanted to be more authentic through my professional and personal life, so I made the decision to go by TK. TK stands for Timothy Kyle, and I feel it represents more of who I am as a person. Don’t worry, I’ll still answer to Tim though too..

Let’s see, what else? Oh, I was lucky enough to go last summer’s World Cup in Russia. Man, that was pretty incredible. Meeting people from all over the world that were united through the common thread of futbol (soccer, for the yanks) was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I’m definitely going to another World Cup soon. Not sure about Qatar, but definitely in 8 years when it is here in the US.

I love talking to our customers and friends, so feel to give me a call or shoot me an email. I also plan to post more about my interest both in the digital marketing world and my personal life, so stay tuned!
